My Reflection...
Paintballing affected me as a person by making me an overall better person. I went into this shy and close minded. Through my experience I opened up to others. I learned to trust people and therefore developed many new friendships. I would go to events by myself and start talking to people. I never thought how paintballing would increase my circle of friends. My confidence was improved . I learn that opening up with others can teach you how to be a better person. Everyone has something that we can learn from. From my mentor and to my paintballer friends I have learned to share my experience to bring other people into this sport. Meeting paintballers from all over the country has improved my social skills and technical skills because of their knowledge that they love to share. Paintballing has opened my mind to the world in that it allowed me to believe that there are good people in the world. People can and do care for others. It is not all about me. Working as a team and learning from each other and being patient with each other is what it is all about. Paintballing has reveal that I can accomplish something when I work hard. I can improve my skills with practice. I learned not give up. Hard work does pay off.
This was a very meaningful experience for me. I learned that a sport is more than just an exercise. A sport is meeting people, opening up to them, building confidence and learning to work together as a team. I learned that improving technical skills comes with practice but I learned people skills by watching, observing and being open and taking risks.
Would I do anything differently if I had to repeat this capstone project again. I would not. I love paintballing. What started out as a release of energy and exercise turned into a passion. From this passion I have learned skills that make me a better person therefore I want to pass these skills onto others. This is why I love paintball.
