My Expectations...
Before the experience, what did you think would happen...
I started at age 13 playing paintball as a way to get exercise and find a sport outside of school. I had no expectations. But as I got into more paintballing my attitude and will to play changed. I desired to become competitive and improve my skills to improve my game. I worked harder and practiced more frequently. I thought paintball would be a passing hobby. Never did I think it would become my biggest interest and passion.
What did you expect to gain from an educational stand-point...
From an educational standpoint I was hoping to increase my social skills by meeting new people. As I went to clinics learning from the finest I felt that it would benefit my ability to learn.
What new knowledge did you hope to gain from this experience...
The new knowledge that I wanted to learn was how to become a better competitive paintball player and learn new skills along the way.
What new relationships did you gain from this experience...
The new relationships I made from this experience was never anticipated. I have met people from all over the world and have become close with them through social media and paintball events. To go to these tournaments and clinics and know so many people and compete against them on the field but be friends off the field was never expected. Paintballers are easy going, friendly and open minded people.
How did you think you would benefit from your involvement?
I thought paintball would be a pastime but instead it turned into a passion for me. I thought it would teach me some basic skills but instead it taught me advanced skills . It taught me people skills. I learn communication on and off the field. It gave me confidence. I expected also to use it as a exercise outlet and it got my physically fit.
